Detailed Day Wise Itinerary
Day 1 – Colombo – Bentota
On arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport of Colombo, our representative cum driver will greet you and drive you to the coastal town of Bentota. Check in at the hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure. You may head out to a beach or try your hands at water sports (optional cost available for water sports). Get back to the hotel for overnight stay (your hotel could be either in Bentota, Kalutara or other nearby areas).
Day 2 – Day 2: Turtle Hatchery and Madu River Boat Cruise (Bentota)
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, go on to explore the best of Bentota. First up, you will visit a Turtle Hatchery. The coastline of Sri Lanka is known to have been frequented by up to five endangered species of turtles. These turtles are allowed to hatch and grow in a protected environment before they are set free. A visit to the hatchery is a must for nature lovers and a great experience for children. Later on, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on River Madu. You will get to witness various species of birds as you pass through the mangroves. After the boat ride, you will be dropped off to your hotel for the night.
Day 3 – Bentota – Nuwara Eliya
After a filling breakfast at the hotel, drive to Nuwara Eliya (approx. 210 km). Fondly known as ‘Little England’, Nuwara Eliya is a beautiful city with a countryside vibe. It is adorned with picturesque lakes surrounded by lush green hills and tea plantations, a Golf Course and a Horse Race Course as well. For travellers interested in the Hindu mythology, a visit to the Seetha Amman Temple is a must. It is believed that this temple was the place where King Ravana had kept Queen Sita in abduction. Upon arrival in Nuwara Eliya, you will have free time to explore the town on your own. Talk a walk along the beautiful Lake Gregory or indulge in water sports activities, or simply relax at a cafe while soaking in the views. Then retreat to your hotel for the night.
Day 4 – Nuwara Eliya – Colombo
Have your breakfast and gear up for a drive down to the capital city of Colombo (approx. 170 km). En-route, visit a tea factory and get a glimpse of how tea leaves are processed into different varieties of tea. Upon arrival in Colombo, check in at the hotel and have the day at leisure. You can also go on and explore the city on your own. Tuk-Tuk’s are readily and easily available for commuting anywhere, at an affordable price. Shopaholics are highly recommended to visit the House of Fashions for buying clothes and accessories at a great deal. You may also visit a casino in Colombo (24 hours open) for a fun experience.
Day 5 – End of Tour
After breakfast, you are allotted some free time until check-out. Then proceed to the airport for your return journey.
